Chop time

Okay, so since I haven't visited the hair dresser for about three years now because I wanted to grow my hair super long for formal, I thought it definitely was about time to get my hair chopped and dyed by someone 'professional'. In the left photo above I did an ombre myself and I think it turned out pretty well considering I'm not a hairdresser. But thanks to YouTube I found a video that really helped me with the correct steps to do and what products to purchase which made me a little more confident to do it by myself. So if you want to ever do your own hair by yourself whether you want to cut it or dye it I definitely recommend to look up YouTube videos and make sure you are confident. Now that formal and graduation has been done and dusted I thought why not get myself treated with a little hair therapy. So here you have it bloggers, my new hairdo. It is the same style which is an ombre but as you can see in the right picture it's more purply at the top then it is in the left. The actual colour at the top of my head on the right picture is more of a reddy brown but the effect I have on the photo makes it a little purple. When I'm in the sun my hair is insanely brightish red. The ends are the same. A little less orange which I am happy about because no one wants orange hair at the ends. I still have a little way to go in which I want the blonde to be on the ends but because my hair is so naturally dark it is a process. I did get a little trim which I knew I had to get done because It's just been far too long since I've had it cut. I was definitely not looking forward to the cut but afterwards my hair is now thicker, still LONG and so much healthier. And as most of you would say, it doesn't even look like I got a cut. But trust me I did and it definitely was hard to say goodbye to possibly 4cm of hair. I hope you like my new hairdo because I absolutely love it. I wish I could show you the true colour of it but oh well. I think I explained it enough.

When I was at the hair dressers I purchased some products which 10% of the money goes towards breast cancer which is such a bonus for me because I absolutely love helping any charity as best as I can. Having nice hair and coming a way with helping such a big charity definitely made my day. Every cent helps. So, think twice before you walk passed a charity place or box because even the smallest of change can do a difference to any ones life.

Appearance update

So I haven't really updated on my appearance since pretty much my first post which was a photo from my 17th of last year. So, there has been a change since then. My hair is still super long but could even be longer now since I have not had a haircut since but now, I have what people like to call it, an ombre where the ends are lighter then the top of my hair. Its meant to be kind of natural like but some people dye the end of their hair pink, purple or whatever they feel like. But I stuck to the more natural look. I do need to go get it done eventually. I basically still look exactly the same but now I am closer to being 18 then I am being 17. So there you have it, my latest appearance update. xoxo

Week with my dad

So, for those who follow my blog you would have known that I was up in Brisbane visiting my dad who just got back from over seas. And we got to spend a beautiful week together just catching up and pondering what we're/he's going to do. Lots of cuddles were given and it definitely was hard to say goodbye yesterday but I will be up again this weekend to visit. Spending time with my dad after being months apart showed me how much I missed my dad and how much I appreciate the time that I have with my family. Even though I have two wonderful older brothers my dad has always been my number one, my family, my everything and I would never change anything we've ever been through for anything. Because it has made us who we are today and made us stronger then ever as individuals and as a family.
So what dad and I got up to this week was we took a little train ride into the city and went to the Goma in brisbane as well as the old museum which I hope my dad loved because as for those who don't know my dad is an amazing artist. Not just your average artist who does it for a hobby but one who does it for a living and has sold work all around the world. He's one of those artist that strive through all the knock backs and just keeps marching on. Very important lesson to be honest. You have to be prepared for failure because it's going to be there through life. Whether it happens all the time or if your one of those lucky people who only encounter failure once but it's going to be there. You just need to accept it and move on. Because life is too short to beat yourself up about the past but to be positive about tomorrow. So that is my week my lovely blogging family. Have a nice night. I am soon off to work again which is going to be busy since it is easter now. Happy easter everyone xoxo

Update

Hello blogging world,
I am sorry that I haven't been blogging in a while or updated on my last movements but I just don't have the time. I work everyday and if I'm not working I'm sleeping or gyming it up at SNAP. So, right now I am sitting in a room at my aunties place because recently my dad has arrived back in Australia from his little adventure over seas. So, now dad is back in the great country of Australia which I am so happy about because if you have read my blog, you know how much I love my dad and adore him to death. I caught a train up from the coast to here in Brisbane to catch up with my dad and spend some time with him before I have to go back to the coast and go back to good old work. Let me tell you. It is great to have a week off from work to just do nothing and to do things that you just can't do because work can get in the way. I have just recently purchased a black iPhone 5 which I am so happy about. I've been hanging out for one for a while and now I have finally got it. I absolutely love it. I love the look of it and everything. I'm not a huge technology geek and know all the stuff behind the scenes of iPhones but I do love the newest iPhone out on the market. I honestly have not been up to much lately. All I have been doing is working, gym and now just visiting my amazing dad. Tomorrow we are off to the city to go to the museums and just have a little wonder re. around the place. So be sure to see some photos from out adventure.
Talking about adventure, there has been a few little adventures that I have been up too but I will have to blog about that a little later because I am super tired at the moment and just want to sit back, watch tv and fall asleep.
So there you have it world, the update on my current movements.
Not that interesting hey?
I promise you It will get more exciting.
Take care. xoxo

Healthy Meals

CHOW MEIN

For some odd reason I have been craving chow mein for the past week and I finally got around to making some for lunch today. It's an easy meal to make and taste beautifully. It's a great healthy meal because you can chuck all sorts of vegetables in it to get your daily serves of vegetables that everyone should be having. If you like curry type's of food, then this is the meal for you.
I'll list down the ingredients below and the method.
There really isn't a huge method in making this meal, it's pretty straight forward.
So, internet world, if you love chow mein like I do then I hope you enjoy this recipe.

INGREDIENTS-
  • 500g of beef mince
  • 350g fresh chow mein noodles
  • Cubes of beef stock to your liking
  • 3 cups of hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of curry powder (feel free to add more)
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • pea's to your liking
  • carrots to your liking
  • 2 large brown onions
  • few clovers of garlic
  • salt and pepper
METHOD-
  • Dice the onion and garlic together, place in a large pan
  • Add mince and brown
  • Add water and beef stock and stir and let it simmer
  • When the mince is brown and the stock is blended nicely add your chopped vegetables in
  • Add soy sauce and curry powder and stir
  • When you have achieved a taste that you like, add the noodles
  • Allow the noodles to get soft or even keep them crunchy, all depends on what you like.
  • Serve and enjoy

Adventures on the beach

Just the other weekend my best friend Luke came up the coast for the weekend and we did some exploring as well as watched a movie which I think anyone would love and enjoy.
Luke and I visited nearly every beach there was in Caloundra. We went to Kings beach, Moffets beach, Golden beach, The small beach at Bulcock street and Currimundi beach. There's probably one or two that I'm missing out but you get the idea. We visited a few beaches. We climbed a tree, we took many photo's with and without my fisheye lens. We ate gelato ice cream and pretty much drove everywhere that was interesting to look at. The photo above, first line in the middle you will see a photo that I took up at the headlands. I honestly think it's a beautiful photo and being up there for yourself is amazing. Especially when you go there on a nice day with no clouds in the sky. After our very tiring adventure around the coast we went and watched 21 and over.

21 and over is such a hilarious movie. In some ways it's like The Hangover if you've seen it. Definitely a movie for 15+ ages though. Down bellow is a link to the official trailer to the movie.
Until next time. xoxo

DREAM CAR COME AT ME!

As I am coming up to sending my log book a way I have been looking around for a good first car. I am absolutely in love with Nissan Micras either cream or pink. But before I go into my obsession of these beautiful cars I should probably explain what a log is for those who read my blog and don't live in Australia. Im not exactly sure if anywhere else in the world do what we do before we get our licence but anyway, I thought I'd share what you have to do to get your licence.
We have to wait until we are 16 to take a test which is a learners test that contains 30 questions all about road safety and rules of the road.  You can only get two wrong out of the 30 questions to pass. Luckily for me I got 30 out of 30 right. After the test you get given a log book which you must fill out every time you drive. The photo below is what the log book looks like inside and what you have to fill out.

You have to get up to 100 hours of driving all up (80 Day time hours and 10 night time hours) before you can go for your Provisional Licence. It is actually hard work getting 100 hours. But then theres the Provisional test which can be hard, just depends how confident you are. When you reach 100 hours and you are confident with all the different types of parking and all the things that driving entails then you send your log book a way and it gets approve. Which means if all the hours you've logged are legit. At that time you set up a Provisional driving test. When everything has been approved then you go on your test with a Driver instructor who tells you what direction to go, where to park, where to make a u-turn etc. If the driver instructor is happy with how you went then you get your provisional licence which means you won't need an adult to supervise your driving. You are capable to drive all on your own. Theres probably a few things that I've missed out or haven't explained well but you get the gist of it all.

Now, to my obsession with Nissan Micras. I currently have over 80 hours of driving so I'm nearly there. I just need to get a few more night hours and some lessons on parking and I will be set and driving on my own in know time. I think Nissan Micras are the cutest little cars and I believe it'd suit me perfectly. As long as has an aux cord in it which I can stick my iPod into, I'll be one happy chappy. Fingers crossed that my dad will be kind enough to help me buy this car. And dad if you read this, this is bit is purely for you to read and from me I'm saying wink wink nudge nudge.

So there you have it blogging readers. That is how people in Australia get there licence.
Untill my next blog. xoxo

My dad

The most amazing man in my life - Mark Eddis Shellshear

My baby years

"

Graduating high school - 2012

My dad is the most inspirational, strongest, caring, warm hearted and greatest man that has ever been in my life. He has sacrificed a lot in his life, in our life so that I would have the best future, the best education and the best up bringing that he could possibly give me. As a single parent, he did nothing less then love me, care for me, provide me all the things that I needed. But he was more then just a dad but a friend. Someone I could always rely on. Always come to when needed. Always a shoulder to cry on. He has always been there for me, no matter what time, no matter what day, no matter what situation. He has done an incredible job bringing me up and I can't  thank him enough. I honestly owe him the world. He's the best father I could ask for. Best person to rely on and the best friend a girl could ever have.

Pondering my future...

So,

I have come to the conclusion to what I want to be like in the future and what my career goal will be. I know that I love the business world and being in a business as well as studying it. I know that when I truly love something and want something I want stop until it happens. I believe everyone should be like that.
I know that I love planning and organising anything. As well as decorating anything. I've pondered my future for so long now and each year it changes. One minute I want to go to university and the next I don't. One minute I want to vet and the next I want to be an air hostess. I believe no one my age (17) should have to know what they want to be and be told that they should know. It's a hard decision for a young person to even begin to know what they want in life. I know that ever since I was a little girl my choice of my future has changed so many times and it wont surprise me if it does again. But, I've never been so excited about a decision before..... I think I want to do events planning. Something in that region anyway. I have a long future ahead. No one knows whats going to happen. The beauty about the future is, it's so unpredictable. Maybe that's a good thing but maybe its not. I know I'm not a surprise lover, actually, I absolutely hate surprises but it is interesting to see and wonder what anyones future will be like.
Just thought I'd keep you all updated on my thoughts.
Until next time.
Take care.

Mooloolaba Adventures

When my best friend Luke Clohessy comes to visit we always go on spontaneous adventures and one of our fun adventures that we went on few weeks ago was to Mooloolaba. For those who have been to Mooloolaba or who live there would know it's a beautiful place but also it can be very crowded at times. Luckily when we went it wasn't too bad.
As you can see by the photos below we went for  a walk on this path that followed the beach around in which we ran into a lot of bush turkeys and baby turkeys too. Also, we ran into this cute little possum sleeping in a tree. A little unusual to see in the day time where it is so exposed, but we all see strange things now and then. We also had some Gelatissmo ice cream but if you haven't had Milano Gelato yet from Caloundra, Sunshine Coast.. You have not had the best ice cream yet. And I am not being bias just because I work there, but because it honestly is the best gelato around. You will just have to try it out for yourself.
All in all it was a great adventure. It's always good catching up with Luke as I only see him on the weekends because he moved a way to Brisbane for training and study. But it's always a blast when we catch up. Im sure all you bloggers out there have a friend or a few that are just always fun to be around and you treasure each moment you spend with them.
Until my next post or even adventure I shall leave you all to your day.
Have a beautiful day internet world.

Valentines Day

Okay, so I know I'm a little late on the valentines post but I still thought 'Why not post about my Valentines Day'.
I didn't have a huge Valentines like some people would have because I had a job interview at lunch time that went for at least half an hour and my boyfriend had work at 5pm till about 10pm at night. But when we could have time together I enjoyed my surprises.
The night before Valentines I stayed up till midnight because I was that eager to find out my surprise. I walked up stairs to find that I had a rose petals leading up to my room, all over my bed which then led to one rose, my favourite chocolate, a new pillow to go with my new bed spread, a card and a little note book all laying on my bed with cute little lanterns above.
That was a very cute surprise.
Then, after I came back from my interview in the afternoon I got greeted at the door by my boyfriend who was completely dresses up who handed me flowers and led me towards the kitchen where I found a freshly cooked meal which was my favourite meal and a beautifully decorated table.
I could not have asked for a better surprise.
I am definitely one lucky girl.

Surprise number one

Surprise number two

Job hunting

So, obviously you can tell that I haven't been blogging heaps lately and that's because I have been busily applying for jobs and getting my resume up to date.
As some people would agree it is insanely hard to get a job for a just graduated student, especially if you live on the Sunshine Coast. It is merely impossible to get a job. But, luckily I was offered a trial at this Italian gelato place called Milano Gelatissimo where I live and two was my second day as yesterday was my first day at work. Today, I found out that I got the job, so now I am an ice cream girl.   But, as well as getting the job today I got a phone call from another job that I had applied online with and they asked me to come in for an interview tomorrow. I am so very excited. At the same time I am also nervous. I guess, I will just have to put on my big smile tomorrow and hope for the best.
I wonder, if I do get the job at this place I'm getting interviewed at, will I be able to handle both jobs? or would I have to take one and have to turn down the other? As much as I wouldn't want to do that to either of them. I must do what's best for me.
So, this that is the reason why I have not been blogging lately.
I have busily been out working and looking for jobs.
Until next time internet world, take care.

iPhoneographer

As promised I said I would blog about my iPhone 4 tripod when I received it.
And...... I just received it at my door literally 20 minutes ago.
I haven't taken any photos with it yet, but I have put my lenses on and looked through it all it and it's absolutely great. It's so handy, affordable and so little which means it's easy to move around. It can move 360 degree's around which is such a great and handy thing part of the tripod.
I recommend when having a tripod you should download an app thats a self-timer for those photo's you take with group shots.
I have no negative feedback about it, yet. I love it. I'll attach a link bellow for where I purchased the item.

- The tripod itself

- The tripod with the iPhone 4 on it
(For those that are questioning about the back of my iPhone 4 and how different it looks. That's because I replaced the black original iPhone 4 back with a chrome clear back. Hence why you can see through it.  I absolutely love my clear back. It's different and unique and very easy to put on.)

- Tripod with the iPhone 4 and fisheye lens

I ordered this 3 in 1 lens from eBay for about $12 and I absolutely love it.
I haven't stopped using it since.

I haven't quite figured out how to use the wide angle lens yet but it's early days.
As you can see I love using the fish eye lens.
I also ordered a tripod for my iPhone which I will blog about when I receive it.
All in all I am so happy with my purchase and definitely recommend anyone who loves photography and has an iPhone.
I have left you a link as to where I bought my lenses.
Hope you are all having a fab day.

Time heals all wounds

I honestly can't believe it's been one month since my Uncle Scott has passed.
One month since all that crazy, stressful time for my family.
One month since you were taken from us too early.
One month I haven't been able to share our famous 'Shellshear' roasts.
One month of still missing you as if it were yesterday.
The pain is still so raw.
I don't know how I am coping the way I have. Considering I haven't cried since the funeral.
As my dads blog states http://eddisart.blogspot.com.au make sure all your wills are up to date and that you have all your loose ends tied.
Even though the pain is still there, and seems like it will never go a way.
I know that, from a beautiful lady that always tells me 'Time heals all wounds,'
Rest in Paradise Uncle Scott.

After Graduating....

- Unity College -

- My beautiful friend, Ana Maria

Unity College Graduating Class of 2012

- Liturgy

- Formal -

- Graduating day -

It's so funny how time can go so fast without realising it.
It was only this time last year that my dad and I was enrolling for Unity College and now, I have graduated from high school and now pondering what my next step it.
As I revisited Unity College today it made me take a second to look and reflect how much I actually loved school and regretting all the times I'd complain how much I hate school and how I can't wait to graduate. Now that I have graduated, I know that the rest of my life and next big steps coming my way  are up to me and that I won't have teachers on my back to get things done or to keep me on track, It's all up to me. My advice for all teenage and high school students is, DON'T let what time you have left at school go by so quickly, make it the most you absolutely can, make each day with your friends enjoyable, fun and memorable. Live each day as if it's your last. Because, in all honesty, seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years go by so fast and you're left wondering
 WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?............

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY

Even though it was a cold and rainy Australia Day, I still celebrated the day with some close friends, dancing to house music, having a drink and just having the best time we can.
As I sit here writing this post it is still raining like crazy outside.
It hasn't rained here on the Sunshine Coast in a long time, it's nice to have a change from the hot weather. Up in North Queensland theres been some crazy weather. Luckily we haven't had anything too bad. Just windy and rainy and cold.
I currently don't have any plans for today except watching movies and eating way too much.
Until my next post I will leave you with some photos from last night.
Enjoy your day.

- Not only can you drink goon but you can also use it as a table

My life as I know it with food

Butter Chicken

Caesar Salad

Caesar Salad & BBQ'ed Steak

I have this obsession of taking photos of food that I eat and I never know what to do with the photos. Now that I have started blogging, what perfect way to put my photos to use.
Now, I don't really know if anyone actually reads my blog but that doesn't matter. I really am starting to love blogging and I can't wait to share everything that I experience, Advice to give and just simply to show the world my life as I know it.
Until my next post, Have a wonderful day.

My last words to my uncle 8/01/2013

Scott Eddis Shellshear
- 1956 - 2012 -
I miss you so much

Uncle Scott always told me "Don't be afraid to take that next step" and today that's what I'm doing.
Today I'm not just saying goodbye to my Uncle Scott but someone I consider my second dad.
Families usually consist of a mum and dad but thats not how my family worked.
I have my wonderful dad who stands beside me today and my Uncle. And to be honest, it was the best kind of family.
I have a lot to thank my Uncle for but the one thing I want to thank him the most about is, taking me in not only as his niece but like his own daughter.
I'll never forget the first time you hugged me. I'll never forget you.
I love you so much and I miss you everyday.
- Rest in Paradise Uncle Scott-

These were my last word to my Uncle at his funeral on the 8th of January 2013 as he passed a way on the 30th of December of 2012. I won't go into details of what happened but I just wanted the world to know how much he meant to me and how much I miss him every day.

The rainy days of my life.

View from the top story of my house.

View from where I had lunch today.

I wake up on a beautiful Thursday morning to find that it is raining on the Sunshine Coast. It's been months since it last rained on the coast. Even though it is raining at the moment, I really am enjoying it. Such a good break from it being scorching hot this past summer. On this fine rainy day I am enjoying a glass of pepsi max with ice, snuggled in my bed watching season one of Modern Family which I purchased yesterday. As for my further plans for today, I have none. Just enjoying a nice relaxing day indoors.
